CECE THOMAS

Raised in the beautiful mountains of southeast Idaho and blessed to have spent the last 22 years in New York – both a place that I call home. Moving from a laid-back rural setting far from my family, to the bustling metropolis of NYC was definitely a shock to my system. It was important for my overall health to find balance… and that is when I discovered yoga.

I realize that yoga is not just about the physical asana (poses). It is the balance and unity of incorporating breath work + meditation combined, that brings more clarity and calmness to one’s mind and heart. YOGA comes from the Sanskrit word YUJ · युज्  “To unite, join, connect.”  It is the union of all parts within ourselves, when you meet your inner self, without expectations or judgment.

My daughter, Ava, is my greatest gift in life. She’s not only my teacher, but a true example of inner strength and discipline. I admire her tenacity and how she fearlessly goes after her goals and dreams. She loves to laugh and has taught me that laughter is one of life’s sweetest creations.

Yoga is a passion of mine and I feel lucky to be able to share this practice with others in my community and around the world.

“There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask "What if I fall?"
Oh but my darling,
What if you fly?

mind goes
